Usmeet Kaur, a native of the enchanting city of Chandigarh, is a product of her vibrant upbringing in the ‘City Beautiful.’ Her educational journey began in the halls of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, an all-girls convent school that laid the foundation for her academic pursuits. Graduating in commerce from Khalsa College for Girls, Sector 26, she continued to expand her horizons with a Postgraduate Diploma from DAV College, Sector 10. This diploma was a gateway to the journalism world for her. Her yearning for knowledge led her to Punjab University, where she earned a master’s in English literature. Undeterred by distance, she pursued a second master’s in mass communication (Journalism) from Kurukshetra University, a testament to her commitment to continuous learning. Usmeet is not only a proficient scholar but also holds certifications in [mention specific certifications].

Through her diverse educational journey, she embodies a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a dedication to mastering the art of communication. Eventually, she worked as a freelancer in Times of India and was subsequently appointed as a staff reporter in Hindustan Times. As a feature writer, she contributed to HT Sunday Magazine, HT City (Local and Punjab Editions) in Chandigarh. Later while posted at Amritsar, she continued as a field reporter,where she forayed into general and hard reporting, covering local Administration, education, crime, and political beat including national elections. She also extensively covered human interest stories and profiled prominent personalities during her career. Human connections have been her forte and key to good communication, which has helped her generate some insightful interviews.

 After dedicating herself to journalism for almost a decade, due to unforeseen circumstances, she ventured into entrepreneurship. She started a food venture by way of a franchise of a national-level quick-service restaurant. After learning the skills of the food industry, she partnered and started the first of its kind Coffee Place in Punjab with an in-house coffee roastery. This coffee house then expanded from Amritsar to Mohali and is presently serving in 5 locations in the State. She is a Founder of the brand/ ex-HR head of the firm who dedicatedly and selflessly looked after Service Management & Customer Satisfaction.Despite juggling various professional vocations, her journey as a writer continues… as she finds there are many more ideas, subjects, fields to be explored, and exploration remains central to her persona. In a similar vein, coffee is not the only subject she plans to stay with and sees herself moving beyond it, to other pastures…new directions hitherto unexplored, quenching her yearning for knowledge and learning.She has been a firm believer that, “In a world full of noise, be the voice of reason, compassion, and change.
